Patience is not something that appears simply by telling someone to “be patient.” Repeating those words does not instantly create calmness in the listener, in fact, it may sometimes test the speaker’s own patience when the other person remains unsettled.
True patience comes from self-training and conscious practice to:
1️. Endure challenges
2️. Tolerate difficulties with resilience
3. Remain consistent in positive actions
Patience cannot be forced or taught by others. It is a personal responsibility that each individual must develop. With consistent effort, patience naturally paves the way for a calmer state of mind.
However, calmness is not permanent. It can fade in difficult situations. This is when prior “training” becomes valuable, choosing to separate emotion from logic, choosing to control reactions, and choosing not to respond hastily.
In the training profession, patience is a crucial skill. This is especially true when engaging with adult and professional audiences, whose behaviour may not always be as expected.
