Microlearning

To quickly understand what microlearning is, let’s just grasp the term ‘micro’. Micro basically means small. Therefore, microlearning is learning from small but very focused information on certain topics/areas. It is the preferable way for people to find answers to specific questions – fast! Usually, microlearning is through e-learning or learning with technology as the information is digitalised.

The importance of microlearning

As the world changes, our ways of living change. So does our way of learning. The world that we are living in now, people are either on their smartphones or computers more than half of the day. In which, elearning and digital learning contents are becoming more popular. 

Modern working learners, especially those who are always on the move, would usually want to learn easily by being able to access their learning contents on their mobile devices. This way, they can fill their time while they are waiting for public transportation to go to work, before meetings, during their breakfast or lunch, or they can listen while they are driving. On-the-go short lessons would certainly be helpful for them.
