You did it! You’ve completed your Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programme and earned your certification, well done!
But what comes next?
To move forward as a professional trainer, the next step is to become an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer. This is where certification turns into recognition.
Note: The following is based on the January 2025 guidelines. Always refer to HRD Corp for the latest updates.
STEP 1: Record Your Training Session
This is your opportunity to demonstrate your facilitation skills in a real setting.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 participants (aged 18 and above)
- Session must be face-to-face (no virtual training)
- Total training duration: at least 4 hours
What to record:
You don’t need to submit the full session. Instead, record:
- Introduction (30 minutes) – icebreakers, session opening, learning objective
- One full module (60 minutes) – learning activities, debriefing
- Conclusion (30 minutes) – session summary and Q&A
Total submission: Minimum 2 hours
Technical tips:
- Minimum 480p video quality
- Ensure clear audio (a wireless mic helps)
- Position the camera to capture trainer, participants, and slides
- Upload to platforms like YouTube or Google Drive and submit the link
STEP 2: Prepare Your Documents
Alongside your video, you’ll need to submit supporting materials:
Core documents:
- Course outline
- Session plan
- Presentation slides
Plus ONE of the following:
- Attendance form
- Feedback form
- Official company letter
Important:
- Must be in PDF format
- Each file must be under 10MB
STEP 3: Submit Your Application
- Submit everything through the TDMS portal
- Pay the RM150 accreditation fee
Now that we’ve gone through the steps for accreditation, let’s address a common question: ‘What’s the difference between being certified and accredited?’
TTT Certified Trainer
- Completed the programme
- Demonstrated foundational competency
HRD Corp Accredited Trainer
- Officially recognised by HRD Corp
- Eligible to conduct claimable training programmes
- Gains stronger credibility and industry presence
** Accreditation is valid for 3 years
