“Sorry, I will not lower my standards to meet yours.”

The training industry, specifically referring to the comments made on the quality of our local trainers, has been the topic of discussion since… forever.

I cannot talk on behalf of others but I know there are things that I can do within my own capacity. One of which is, how my team and I run our Train-The-Trainer sessions.

I don’t mind sharing openly what I do because I don’t believe that it should be a trade secret. In fact, if it has worked and produced the desired results then I don’t mind other TTT vendors following suit. The ultimate goal was to always increase the standard of training, and what better way than to do it at the entry point to the industry – the quality of the TTT itself.

Now one can argue that quality is subjective and there are many parameters to judge quality. But one thing is for sure, if the TTT itself cannot reflect the standard or quality that the industry is aiming for, then the vendors have done a bad job at being the role model that is giving the first impression to those who are about to embark in their training career journey.

So, what quality are we talking about here? What parameters? What standards are we referring to?

If the vendors cannot even ensure a training room that is following the simple SOPs to minimise risk of Covid transmission by proper seating arrangements and appropriate in-session activities, how can we even start to discuss about standards and quality?

We at Access Ideas (M) Sdn Bhd cap our TTT registration to a max of 15 pax, not only ensure the capacity of the training room is adequate but to allow room and time for proper attention to be given to each participant because they are and will be the future trainers that will shape our training industry in the coming years. If they never experience the level of quality and not made aware of the standards that can be achieved, how can we expect them to do any better?

Sorry, but honestly we cannot lower our standards to meet yours.
